Thanksgiving offers a special chance to involve young children in joyful, seasonal decorating. Making a Thanksgiving display for preschool is such a lovely way to welcome the holiday into the classroom.

Build a Tree of Thanks where each leaf shows something a student feels grateful for. This was such a touching activity that filled our classroom beautifully with feelings of gratitude and the vibrant colors of fall.
2. Little Sailor Boat
Set sail with a Little Sailor Boat where each sail is a student’s drawing showing their Thanksgiving story. This was a great way to mix history with creativity.
3. Turkey Run Pathway
Change your board into a Turkey Run Pathway, where each child’s turkey moves along a path as they learn something new. Kids loved seeing their turkeys ‘run’ across the board.
4. Fall Adventures
Show Fall Adventures where each leaf tells a story of a favorite fall activity or memory. This storytelling board encouraged sharing and telling stories.
5. Leaves of Knowledge
Make Leaves of Knowledge by having each child write something they’ve learned on a leaf. This board was a great way to reflect, helping children see how they’ve grown.

Show off Acorn Excursions, where acorns are drawn and marked with new adventures or skills students want to try. This concept sparked interest and future plans.
7. Thankful Bunting
String together a Thankful Bunting of thank-you notes from each child. This simple but lovely idea added a personal touch to our Thanksgiving fun.
8. Garden of Gratitude
Plant a Garden of Gratitude where each flower petal has a written gratitude from a student. This bright and meaningful display was a community favorite.
9. Fall Leaf Rainbow
Make a Fall Leaf Rainbow by setting out leaves in a gradient of autumn colors. It’s a stunning look that made everyone stop to admire the colors of a New England fall.
10. Harvest of Thoughts
Show off a Harvest of Thoughts by changing the board into a farm scene with crops of ideas and thoughts from students. This scene was a hit, mixing learning with art.
11. Turkey Tails of Thanks
Design Turkey Tails of Thanks with each tail feather showing a student’s thankful thought. This interactive and colorful display was a hit with the kids.
12. Horn of Plenty
Fill a big horn of plenty with paper fruits and veggies, each marked with kind acts done by students. This concept not only decorates but also teaches what Thanksgiving is all about.
13. Feathered Mates
Craft a board of Feathered Mates, where each feather shows something the class learned that month. It’s a bright way to show their growth and learning.
14. Thankful Hands
Trace and cut out Thankful Hands where each finger says what they are grateful for, a simple but effective way to get everyone involved. This hands-on way is always a favorite in my classes.
15. Fall Friends Woods
Make a Fall Friends Woods where each tree is decorated with leaves showing friendships and teamwork. This board showed how important community and working together are.
16. Thankful Covers
Craft Thankful Covers with each patch showing a student’s thankfulness, making a warm and cozy feel. Covers are such a comforting symbol of home and warmth.
17. Pumpkin Treat Area
Ask students to make a Pumpkin Treat Area by decorating paper slices with their favorite toppings. It was a sweet way to spark creativity and a bit of math, counting the slices together.
18. Little Hand Turkeys
Change up your bulletin board with little hand turkeys, a really cute and memorable way for kids to show their creative side. I still remember doing this when I was younger, and I have such wonderful memories of seeing my little handprints become colorful turkeys.
19. Turkey Time
Set aside a section for Turkey Time, where each child makes their own turkey with unique designs. I’ve found this to be a great way for children to show who they are.
20. Gobble Fun Group
Celebrate the little gobblers by changing each student’s face into a turkey with the Gobble Fun Group theme. It’s always a fun project that students and parents just love.
